iPad Air 2 Performance Updates: May 2015
It’s been a few months since we took time to update you on the ongoing improvements we’re making to stylus performance on the iPad Air 2. As we mentioned in January, a number of challenges have presented themselves since the Air 2’s release last fall, and rather than give up and say the Air 2 was incompatible with our styluses, we wanted to do everything we could to solve the issue.
We’re excited to say our development team has moved mountains to create software solutions to what’s essentially a hardware issue with the Air 2 screen. Since the Air 2’s release we’ve released two major updates to our SDK tackling Air 2 compatibility; our latest update (2.7) has resolved most stylus performance issues on the Air 2 with proper integration.
Currently, some of our app partners have fully integrated our 2.7 SDK to ensure the best performance. We’re still working with other app developers to get 2.7 in place as well. Our SDK’s free, so it’s just a matter of getting it fitted into the development schedule for app developers. This can sometimes be difficult due to an app’s resources, so we’ve tried to do what we can to make the integration process as easy as possible for our partners. We hope to see full integration across all major, integrated apps over the next couple months.
This has been a frustrating issue for all of us, and we thank all of you for your support, feedback, and patience throughout this process. We’re excited to move past these issues together, and couldn’t have done it without you.
